What we do

Reroute.Older homes often have ducts that were added a room at a time with no plan. We look at the layout, figure out where the air needs to go, and rework the trunk and branches so the system can actually deliver it. This is also how we handle renovations and additions.
Replace.When the ducts are rotted, moldy, undersized or made of old ductboard that is falling apart, we replace them. One customer's basement "looked like an octopus lived down there." We moved the unit to the attic, ran new ducts, and the house cools evenly now.
Balance.Dampers and register adjustments so the far bedroom gets as much air as the living room.

How do I know if my ducts are leaking?
Uneven rooms, dust, high bills and a conditioned crawl space are the usual signs. We can test static pressure and inspect the runs.
Can ductwork be replaced in one day?
A typical single-story house, yes. Larger or two-system homes take longer.
Should I replace ducts when I replace the HVAC unit?
If they are undersized, leaking or moldy, yes. Putting a new system on bad ducts wastes most of the efficiency you paid for. We will tell you either way.
